I'm sure this question has been asked before (I did search the forums before posting).

Is Blitz3D still ok to be used for 2D games? I have BlitzMax but have always got on better with Blitz3D.

Yep - loads of people have a habit of only doing 2D stuff in it.

Personally, I think there should be some kind of law against it.

Or, for a more intuitive coordinate system: http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=78304#880250

ie. Yes, definitely.

It's also worth pointing out that since BlitzMax apparently doesn't have a "true" 2D engine built in, Blitz3D is the better choice if (for some reason) you want to do things the old-fashioned way.

What you mean with "still ok"? if it runs on your users PCs and let's you have the graphic capabilities you want, why not use it?

Problem is that a lot of games today rely on hardware blending and other special things like that, and for that just the DirectDraw interface Blitz3D gives you won't suffice.
