In the below code, the debuglog reads out the proper text, but the program will give a runtime error when fname1$ tries to assign itself the text of the object. "object does not exist". why does the debuglog see it, but the other code will not?

Function saveplayerdata(spd.playerdata)
DebugLog playerfolder$+spd\name$+".sav"
fname1$=spd\name$

There must be something other than this code that causes the error. I tried this:but it seems to work properly.

Nevermind, sorry for the post. I had accidentally unremarked a call to this routine somwhere else where it should not have been called.

Thanks for the reply. I knew it was somthing obvious but couldnt see it, in my defense I have the flu and can barely add 2 and 2 at the moment.

Thanks again.

That would be 4. :) Hope you get well, rifraf.

Hope it's not the swine flu!!!
Get well soon.

RifRaf(Posted 2009) [#6]
Nope, not the swine variety , thanks!

Man-Flu I'm guessing? If you had the full blown variety you wouldn't know whether you were going for a sh*te or a haircut, let alone be anywhere near a computer.!!
