I have created a client available here http://www.tiberion.eu/client.zip 1) try to unpack it on desktop and launch the game.exe and it all is working fine.. you can login register user etc.. no problem so far 2) Rename the folder from client to ReleasedClient. 3) Try to launch the game.exe again.. what ? now windows firewall blocks the program ? why ? 4) If i put the srouce in the new renamed folder and launch program from gui it works fine again. Its so strange windows vista firewall blocks a program if one renames the folder. and its probably me who only used windows proffesional sens 1996 who is the bad boy here.. Windows version Vista Home. I suppose all windows protections system is active. Anyone have same problem as me ? Is this why Blizzard moved whole warcaft game to C:\users\ ? Last edited 2013 |

Ahhhhh, good to be back! Anyway, this reminds me of another unusual problem I had a few weeks ago: I made a basic space shooting game to impress some friends. But the folder containing the ship model also contained a few unneeded models. I compiled it, put it on a disk, and added the ship file without adding the other models. It didn't work, but when I put the other models in the same folder, it worked perfectly. The models weren't used in the program, but since it was compiled with the models present in the folder, it needed them to work. Maybe something similar happened to you (with some good ol' help from vista). |

Try to download a zip file containg exe file.. from a firend on MSN. Vista stops you do exctract thefile. its not safe it says :) instead one have to upload file to internet download if via link. i recent found out once can mark a file as secure by right klick on zip file. |
