I have tried a few of the alpha in 2d examples eg pants on one was the best but it just can't the number of images i need to draw with them.

So i was wondering if anyone knows of a public dll for drawing alpha images realtime.

And is Blitz3D ever going to support this in the future or do we have to buy blitzplus and be happy....just wondering....?

I don't think Blitzplus has native 2D alpha, either.

Your best option would be nSprite2. Failing that, BlitzMax.

so does blitzmax have native alpha in 2d graphics mode

GfK(Posted 2007) [#4]
well, sort of.

Blitzmax uses 3d hardware even for 2d games. But don't let that put you off. My Blitzmax game works fine on an old PC with a 733mhz CPU, 256Mb RAM and 8mb shared graphics.

Try SpriteCandy or NSprite 2.
There's also the B2D Extended DLL which might be what you're looking for :

The Extended DLL is what I was racing here to suggest.

Not sure why I posted, really. :o)

Ultrafast image.

You can find it at the userlibs forums, a extremely fast and useful lib for blitz3D that emulates the drawing methods of blitzmax. It's pixel perfect, very easy to use and it's free.

regards!
