I downloaded the 3d modeller "3D Canvas". I read in the description that it can import/export 3ds-files. But my version doesn't. Do you know any plugins for 3D Canvas to export 3ds? Where can I get them?

From their website info, it looks like you need to upgrade from the free version to at least the "Plus" version to import/export 3DS format. That's $34.95 Another alternative would be to use a separate application to convert from one format to 3DS or back again, like Unwrap3D or Milkshape3D.

Yep...you need to upgrade to get the full range of import/export formats. Vesion 7 is in it's first beta stage and now supports .dds files.
