I use matches, make sure you keep them dry or they wont light.

Try the following.
By the way I'm drunk. (again)
You need an animated texture of a fire.
put it on a flat plane surface and animate it.
if this helps at all it must be good wine.

Or use one of those propane lighters for lighting charcoal cookout fires.

Oh, wait, that's right. they mean virtual fires in Blitz code! Why didn't we think of that :(
