I was playing a little with modifying the vertex UVs realtime.
I think it looks quite good for a cartoonish water :)

Sorry, don't know why but someone can download from

thanks for the demo Eurythmia.

It reminds me, Fredborg's entry for the water contest lacked realism because the texture just scrolled, apart from that it was brilliant work, but affecting the UVs like this can really improve the effect of moving water, without using up cpu power.

Also,
you can change the texture called "t3" for one of your own
to get different looks (scaling it also helps)
