SHORT VERSION : Can a link between an entity and its pivot be severed on a temporary basis. I am hoping for an elegant solution as I still need the pivot later in the program.
LONG VERSION : I have six spaceships orbiting a common pivot, all moving in an anti-clockwise direction. I move all the ships by simply rotating the pivot. I plan to allow each ship to fly off at a tangent one after the other so all the ships fly along the same flight path. However once a ship has broken orbit the rotation of its parent pivot is distrupting the intended straight line flight path. Any help would be appreciated.
