ok, I'm having finding a normalmap generator... I have got the plug in for Photoshop to create my own from scratch, but I'm after a peice of software that gets a high polygon model and converts it to low polygon but safes all the extra detail to a normal map (like ORB)... but unfortuanalty I can't download ORB... (dunno why) but does anyone know any other software along the same lines?
or a working link for ORB...
any help would be very useful

I cant help you but im a little interested in this normalmapping stuff as well. So im wondering where the photoshop plugin is to create these kind of textures from scratch.

hmmm... I still can't download ORB... that link couldn't be accessed... grrrr... oh well... I'm currently downloading Melody... sounds good.
normal mapping rocks :D
sure speeds up the fps doesn't it? :)
it's really going to help with my new project

thank you for the help :)
but unfortunally I still can't get a working bump map tool..... (grrrr) they either don't have the right format or I don't have the right shader... grrr....
and I tried to download ORB again... this time it started to work... but it stopped like half way... then when I tried using stardownloader it said "internal server error".... I was confuzzed....
could someone Email me the ORB zip file or setup file?
(if that's not illegal or something... but I'm pretty sure it's not)

That really annoyed me. My graphics card didn't support shader 2.0 or something, so i couldn't run the program... SIGH! The shader was really only for the normal map preview. That was just stupid...

ORB uses shader 2.0 aswell?
awwww... is there any utilities like it that don't use shader 2.0 and can use formats like *.3ds?

*sigh*... I'm still looking for freeware normal mapping tools..... (that can use a format like *.3ds and don't use shader 2.0)
can anyone help? (direct me)
