Convert .MAX?

Blitz3D Forums/Blitz3D Programming/Convert .MAX?

I'm sure this has been discussed before but searching the forum failed. I need to convert .max files to b3d. I've seen a util in codearchives that converts .3ds, but not .max...

Is there any import features for .b3d to say Milkshape?

I find myself finishing a model, saving the .ms3d to my works folder and then exporting the .b3d but then in game I find something wrong, or something I want to change, and I have to open up the .ms3d and change it, save that and overwrite the previous .b3d

If you don't own Max, you'll have to find a kindly person who does, because AFAIK no programs other than 3dsMax itself load .max. Pipeline is great, of course, but it does require Max.

Milkshape's b3d export's messed up. Use 3DS - that's my favorite.

3ds doesn't support any kind of skeletal animation, nor does it support smoothing groups, so it's even more messed up than Milkshape's b3d exporter, which does at least support skeletal animation.
