Is anybody working on point sprites, using the new 1.88 Direct3D7 access features?

You can't

It is a DirectX 8 feature

Really? Thought somebody said it's in DX7 too :/ Seems like I was wrong then ;(

The 3DMark03 Demo uses DX7 for the Wings of fury Game Test.
It uses point sprites. I think they may be limited though because it says...

"Although DirectX’s hardware accelerated point sprites seems to be most favorable for particle effects, they still have their limits. They can’t be scaled, rotated or animated independently. Thus quad particles are used when point-sprites prove to be insufficient."
