better would be *.x import but with full weights and bones animation.That would open Blitz3d to Blender users to export their character animations to blitz. Blender is the only alternative to do this for free. Maybe hard to handle but is the only free one doing this.

Why I prefer it to b3d format? Because also Character Fx and many other packages like Maya, Lightwave, hash Animation Master, 3d canvas, XSI, etc, would have direct import of bones&weights character animations.

If you are talking about a wavefront .obj importer (the text format), I have the beginning of one. It loads meshes ok, without materials and groups.

We could work from that and make it public domain?
