Hey guys! ive been away for a few days, back now mind (as you can tell!)

Anyhoo, i have a playable demo of the online part of supernova running.

Its quite simple- i have no cubic splining or interpolation of any kind going on, and there are quite a few bugs to be ironed out, but im testing my network infrastructure.

You should just be able to click Start and itl log you in as required. The server automatically splits you up into groups of 10 and does not monitor games.

Have fun- this is a "super-alpha".

Well, lets see if you burn my server out? (this is the big test. And by the way, when youre playing, youre not logged onto my server!)

[Edit]

oops, the http link was the wrong version! try again now! should be a .zip

Enjoy- il keep an eye on it (and work on it)

By the way,Controls

A=thrust
B=Speed up
G/H = YAW
Arrows=steer/pitch
Space=shoot
Shift+f1-f6=ship select

Oh, and the GUI buttons in-game dont work yet ^>^

[edit]

oops- i left my firewall unset with the server. sorted now... hopefully...

Has a lot of potential.

A suggestion would be to change the flight controls.

I suggest something simple, like treat the ship as if its a world war 2 spitfire, give it the same sort of turn circle and speed. as its in space the user wont really notice thats what your doing and it will feel better to play.

Or.

Use the same flight model as Freelancer.. which again would be really good.

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2004) [#4]
...but youl notice it in Mission mode ;) however, il be changing some aspects of the flight system.

This game is better used with a 2 stick analogue joypad.

Cheers for the comments :D

Okay, so now ive had two people bring up freelancer. ive not played that, but i suppose id better go find out what its all about.

Sorry peeps, i forgot to export the GUI's graphics and that left it in a right loada poop >.< heh

Still, its enjoyable. Start button is the bigger button at the bottom :P

trash(Posted 2004) [#6]
Oh... and i thought something went wrong with my gfxcard (nice little squares with wierd colors ) but after tapping stupidly on the screen, the game starts at least.

Nice one, but handling is...erm... a little hard to learn for an old men :D

but it has potential, as Yavin told :).

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2004) [#7]
Yup, i need to change the keyboard handling. It always stays behind as i have an analogy pad.

I was kinda hoping for enough people to play it to be online at the same time- but it isnt happeneing :(

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2004) [#8]
Okay so now ive seen it first hand- i was playing against someone who couldnt seem to move.Are there control issues too? (do they fail?) good thing is that whoever it was (who were you!??) actually logged into my machine over at work- :D

trash(Posted 2004) [#9]
Hmmm... moving around wasn't any problem 4 me... worked all well:)

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2004) [#10]
Cheers for testing :D

Picklesworth(Posted 2004) [#11]
