Entity manipulator?

If one was to make an editor that manipulates individual polygons of loaded entities and then saves them, would that be difficult (because of the format they're stored in)?

I'm slightly confused here... this sounds like a 3d Modeller.

Then it is as complicated as you want to make it. Simply loading, amending and saving a mesh is not overly complicated.

Making it user friendly, powerful and professional can be a incredible task (hence the high price tag of stuff like 3D Studio Max and LightWave).

No, that's because they're crooks!

I would suggest looking at milkshape3d.com if you haven't already, if you're going to make a modeller it's got to be at least as good as this one if you want to even consider selling it.

And the reason they still sell so many of the things is because nobody can / will put the time and effort into making comparible prducts at a lower price.
