Does anybody know if and when there will be dynamic collision support within Blitz and either way what systems have other people come up with to get around the current situation?

Jeroen(Posted 2004) [#2]
what do you mean with dynamic collisions?

Gabriel(Posted 2004) [#3]
You mean collisions where both the target and the object are moving? I think NuclearGlory's collision DLL can deal with that. I haven't tested it though, so I could be wrong.

Bot Builder(Posted 2004) [#4]
There was a system that duplicated objects and then did the collisions using blitz collisions way off somewhere else, only with one of the objects stationary and the other moving relativly. Yeah, a collision dll would probably do that... or you could to a capsule-capsule collision check between old and new positions(fairly hard actually).

The Tokamak physics engine does dynamic collisions, though the physics stuff may be more than you're looking for. Sweenie's working on a wrapper to allow Tokamak to be used in Blitz at the moment. Check out this thread for more info.

"Saved my project and my name!"

I come back to the scene not too much later and find that someone has gone and attempted to solve this problem that has plagued so many of us programmers. Your plug-in has saved my project and my reputation. I hope you prosper greatly in your life and that you continue to produce such great things.

I thought that was a bit funny. "You saved my name", "Well, who are you?" "Me? I am anonymous!"

hehe

Who is this Anonymous chap? I hear so much about him everywhere. He has posted on EVERY SINGLE BOARD on the internet that I have seen. How the hell does he get around so much.. LMAO
