Here's a new test, please try it and let me know..

1) In 800*600*32 does it run any faster than the first test?
2) What fps do you get in the other modes?

1) doesn't run any faster. But it does load quicker by 100 ms
2) No difference in frame rate. 40 fps all ways.

Seems what you doing is processor dependant. What exactly is going on anyways? :)

It's a high vertex count model but not that high...think I've found the problem why it is so slow.

Please download from the link again and it should run much faster now! =)

800x600x32 i get 856 fps
800x600x16 i get average 1010 fps
800x600x32 i get 1107 roughly
800x600x16 i get 1300 roughly

load time generally around 327 ms

800x600x32 get about 650fps

P4 2.4, Radeon9700Pro, WinXP

800x600x16 - load 1820 ms - 820 fps
640x480x32 - load 573 ms - 953 fps
640x480x16 - load 1866 ms - 1015 fps

P4-2400, 1024 MB RAM, Radeon 9600XT 128 MB, WinXP

Loaded properly the first time.

FPS fluctuates.

loaded in 463ms
800x600x32
FPS 690-745

loaded in 462ms
600x480x32
FPS 880-970


Athon 1800+, 768MB RAM, WinME, Radeon 9700 Pro

Yes, faster load and many more FPS:

Loads in around 565 ms
800x600x32 = 348-396 FPS
800x600x16 = 471-534
640x480x32 = 444-546
640x480x16 = 555-602

1.4 GHz Athlon, 512 MB RAM, GeForce3 Ti 200, WinXP Pro

Faster load times and faster fps.

1. 1714.0 ms 202-305 fps
2. 1535.0 ms 300 fps
3. 1601.0 ms 300fps
4. 1771.0 ms 300fps
