Hi all,

Now that we have CEM has anybody tried for a better looking cel shade look as surely if it can be simulated with sphere reflection mapping then cubic mapping would give better results?

Jason.

Well I haven't tried it, but I know it's possible and while it won't neccessarily look BETTER, (it already looks pretty darn good in my opinion) it will allow you to avoid the issue of the cel shading light position being modified by the orientation of the camera.

So yea cubic will definitely work, and will give "better" results. I dunno when I'll get around to updating my cel shading code to use cubic mapping, but it's pretty trivial.
