How, using 3Dstudio MAX can I create animated 3D meshes for use with Blitz 3D? I already have the animated mesh but how can I turn it into a B3D file either directly or indirectly? Even another Blitz supported file format would be acceptable.

How is everyone creating animated 3D meshes for use in Blitz? I think this issue ought to be explained in the FAQ, maybe even a tutorial.

What do all of you think?

If its Biped Animation then you can use Valve's SMD exporter for Max. You can then use Milkshape to convert these to .b3d.
There is a tutorial on Blitzcoder explaining the process.

If its Mesh deformation then you'll have to wait for one of the Max Exporters to be finished. There are about 3 currently under development.

You can also use CharacterFX to create skeletal animation and export as .b3d

The ideal path from 3D Studio Max to b3d file format is currently using Ultimate Unwrap. Ultimate Unwrap has a 3D Studio Max exporter; export to UU and then save as b3d.

Several people are working on b3d exporters for 3D Studio Max.
