I created a simple monster beetle model (I got one for christmas in 1986 and rediscovered it recently) in truespace earlier today and, not having touched Blitz for several months (Burn him! spawn of satan!), I decided it would be cool to drive it around.

Not having made much progress with 3D programming, I have many, many queries.

I created a simple demo (using the 3rd person camera sample as a basis). I am however having trouble with the cars children, I am rotating the front two wheels when the left or right cursor keys are pressed, but they do not rotate around their own centres.

Why??

Also, the front wheels don't always reset, It's late and I'm stumped just now.

I'll work on real world physics (and everything else) once I can get these working.

Also, as a side note, can people tell me what FPS they are getting as it's a relatively high poly model.

64 fps. 450MHz PIII with an ATI Rage Fury Pro.

It looks like both wheels are rotating about the same pivot point, somewhere in the middle of the car. You either have to move the pivots in Truespace or, if Truespace doesn't export pivot points correctly (and this is true of many modeling tools,) use a different modeling tool.

I shall investigate further, thanks :)
