Blitz3D not working

| I cant get blitz3d working anymore it pops up as an application but the ide does not appear. If I rightclick and try to open the ide it pops up an error box saying "blitzpath environment variable not found" Ive uninstalled, reinstalled blitz, turned my laptop on/off ect to no evail. it was working fine just stopped working today. Any ideas? |

| Short before bed time, and the only solution atm would be to install B3d directly into c:\bb3d\ directory. If that does not work then try to see if the enviromental variable is there : link:Computerhope.com |

| Installing it to C:\bb3d ect ect worked perfectly Thanks for saving the day Dan So what has happened here? I'm just looking to understand it so maybe I can fix/avoid problems in the future |

| It may be because Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10, have restrictions on how programs can write/read files if they are installed in c:/Program files/, so this can cause some problems with old programs like Blitz3d. I usually have a c:/Progs/ directory where i install all my programs which i know were not designed to write/read in user directories. (even GOG install its old games in c:/GOG/, so you see...) |
