Does anyone out there use Protean Ide with Windows 8.1
When i try to use it on my system, it crashes when I try to open a file?
Does anyone else have this problem and have anyone solved it?

I was a big user of Protean prior to finding IDEal - you might want to consider that as an alternative ;)

So Mr. 'plotter,

what features does IDEal have over Protean?

virtlands(Posted 2015) [#7]
I have both IDEAL & Protean installed; they both work great;

IDeal is ideal;.

Blitzplotter(Posted 2015) [#8]
Ms Amanda,

I'd a lot of fun using Protean, but I confess its been a while, so excuse me if my comparisons a bit sqwiffy.

IDEal has a 'workspace' save option. This is great for opening numerous files within a specific project which are particular to a specific area of functionality. Just one area of IDEal that I REALLY appreciate, I'm sure Protean has the same thing.

I think IDeal opens up somewhat faster than Protean, yep might only be seconds but there you go. Did I say I spent a lot of time using Protean and thought it was/is a brilliant IDE also?

Oh yes, one of - in fact my FAVOURITE IDE for any development ;)

Ideal works fine on my Win-7 setup, maybe it'll work on Win-8 also. I prefer Ideal over Protean, but that's just my own opinion, use what ever is best for you. ;-)
