Hi all,

I am thinking of switching to linux, I use blitz3d though has anyone managed to get this working with Wine?

Thanks,

No, it does not work well at all. I tried with B+ on a whim and it was a train wreck.

Other times this question has been asked (and Sauer has volunteered his B+ information despite the question being about Blitz3D specifically):

Your better solution would be Blitzmax + miniB3D. Would run natively on Linux + opengl, and code-wise is a lot similar to B3D.

Wouldn't the issue with B+ and B3D be nearly the same considering both use DX for rendering?

Dreamora(Posted 2010) [#6]
Only up to a given point as B+ and B3D do quite a few things different.

Also B+ can render to more than just DX (GDI and OpenGL)

Thanks eveyone for your input I think I will stick with windows and B3D for the time being and maybe just dual boot linux.

Cheers,
