I use blitz3d, T.ed, lightmap maker and tree party, some programmes work fast on one computer and slow on another. For instance Ted will work ok on no. 1 comp. and a bit slower on no. 2 comp, while lightmap maker will be just the opposite, ok on 2 but slower on 1. I suppose it's compatibility of programmes to hardware maybe. These comps. are pentium4 3ghz era. I'm planning to build a new comp. and wondered if anyone has preferences regarding hardware, graphics card, nvidea, ati, what mainboard to use etc. Which is the best all round system to go with................thanks.

If you don't have a limit on cost go with the fastest computer you can get and then you won't have to worry too much about the graphics card. mabe a 3-4 Ghz quad core and nvida graphics card I don't know too much about hardware requirements but that is what my computer is.
