does B3d support .obj meshes?

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#2]
Nope, unless you write your own loader function. Ultimate Unwrap converts .obj files though. There maybe some free modellers, like blender, that will convert from .obj as well.

Matty(Posted 2008) [#3]
I think there is something in the code archives

Mortiis(Posted 2008) [#4]
Blitz3D supports, .X, .B3D, .3DS and .MD2

You can convert your mesh to one of them.

dows milkshape support extracting a .b3d mesh with bones?

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#6]
It does, but you use group names, and bones name. Any names in fact for your mesh, for some reason... Maybe it's been fixed?

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#7]
I am confused by your response.
although i think my question was sorta odd.
I meant is
do exported .b3d models have bones that i can use in blitz3D?

Pirate(Posted 2008) [#8]
convert the models to .b3d with ultimate unwrap 3d...this program does a great job of converting the model and leaving the animation intact...hope this helps...

Mortiis(Posted 2008) [#9]
Yes, they will have bones if you rig and skin the model properly.

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#10]
how can i get use the bones in blitz3d

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#11]
okay, i understand now, the joints that blitz will read are the base joints of a joint tree, now how for example would i get a hand joint if it is linked to a elbow joint?

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#12]
never mind have figured it all out after experimenting for a minutes, thank you guys though for helping me.

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#13]
okay, apparently not, I have a mesh, and i want to animate only one part of it, how would i do that? the legs for example

Ben(t)(Posted 2008) [#14]
I am trying to get a fps character to use its legs in an animation and run, but still let its arms be free to be rotated around.
and i am using milkshape
