BMax-ish Alpha in B3D

Hi all,

Is it pretty simple to implement '2d' alpha effects in B3D, like those available in BMax? I realise that there are no dedicated 2D alpha commands, but would it be feasible to work on a project whereby 80% give or take of the game is 2D, in B3D?

I'd like to be able to do natty fade ins / outs / overlays as I would do in BMax, but utilise the 3D functionality as well. Are sprites the answer?

I hope that makes sense. I'd rather 'not' use any third party mods in BMax to get the 3D, etc.

Cheers!
M

If you'd rather avoid Blitzmax until Max3D appears, you can do all that with Sprite Candy/Blitz3D for now instead. Obviously its not cross platform and its DirectX only, but it should do what you need.

Thanks for the replies gents. I may well continue in BMax and concentrate on my 2D games. Just had one of those 'flings' where I felt that I wanted to do something 3D. ;)
