Light Question

Blitz3D Forums/Blitz3D Beginners Area/Light Question

Please, I have made a wall (formed by 4 meshes), in AC3D, and exported. When I use the mesh without a light, with just a ambient light, the wall is displayed correctly (of course without lights). When I create a Light, each of meshes of the wall appears to be lighted independent. Please see the picture below. How can I avoid this effect?

Thanks

It could be the normals, have you tried using UpdateNormals ?

Al Meyer(Posted 2008) [#3]
Warner, I have tried it now, I get a better result, but the shadow still on there.

It's more than likely because the walls are not just single sided quads but cubes ?? wich would mean the edges of each cube are sharing vertex light with the vertex on the opposite side. Is the above shot welded ?

Al Meyer(Posted 2008) [#5]
Yes, I need it make of cubes. Is there a fix for it?

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#6]
Not really. Unless you can add all the cube together in a modeller. Why not just make the walls out of quads? And weld them together.

Yes, I will do that. Blitz3D is a easy language, but all the theory behind the 3D games are very time consuming for the beginner. Thanks a lot

Problem fixed with quads geom. Thanks

It's cool. You do learn alot when using 3d i admit :o)
