Losing textures when importing 3ds objects

Hi,

I'm using anim8or and when I export to 3ds and load into b3d I lose the textures. What's going on?

Make sure the texture files are in the same folder as the 3ds file.

Also -- 3ds files only allow textures with filenames in 8.3 format (ie 8 characters for name, 3 charaters for extension (3ds)). This could be another reason why they do not load as some programs can load a 3ds with textures successfully if the texture names are too long and some can't.

this doesn't seem to work, however I am only talking about when I load it using mediaviewer from the load window in b3d's ide, so when I use the models in blitz this may not happen.

Also, I'm looking to use pacemaker to animate my meshes once I've created them in anim8or, is this a good combination?
