For basic shapes, which would be more efficient: Loading in - for example - sphere meshes, or creating them, scaling them, and texturing them in Blitz?

I don't think there is much difference, for that is what blitz has to do internally when it loads them in...If you are using spheres you might as well create them, its easier, and makes the end program size smaller.

I don't see how creating spheres, scaling them, and texturing them is easier than just loading them in.

Maybe not, just do what is easier for you...The end product (the sphere) is the same.
