Question on Antialiasing

Blitz3D Forums/Blitz3D Beginners Area/Question on Antialiasing

What is aliasing / antialiasing?
How is it related to image quality and image transparency?

Does it make a difference to the quality of 3d images?

I was reading something about it on another web page, but didn't understand much of it, and I think I saw something about it on this website.

Also, are there any ways of increasing graphics quality other than increasing the resolution as in:
Graphics3d 1280, 1024, 32, 1
Anything else I can do?

Personally, I never use it.

Basically, it smooths out jagged lines on geometry, etc. It does make a difference to quality. However, it is a bit hit and miss with Blitz3D - some cards appear to represent it better than others via Blitz3D.

My advice is to not bother with it, unless you can see an improvement in visuals that you want. You might not notice much difference via Blitz3D.

It wont make a big difference in objects such as cubes but in higher detailed objects(spheres) i would prefer it.

Anti-Aliasing is 3D only, and it smooths the models.
