i was wondering what's the simplest way to do shadows below your entities? i mean simple.

do you just put a entity shaped grey decal on the ground below your entity? since my entity is always a certain number of pixels from the ground i could just attach it to the model as a child i'm thinking?

Yes. Simpler than that is a blurred circle decal.

considering how fast this is compared to any other existing shadow solution for Blitz3d, it's looking pretty good.

It's only important to use a decent alpha texture. The Alpha channel may contain the shadow shape and the rgb channel may be black.

One clever way somebody mentioned sometime ago is to use a entity shaped decal and parent their edges to the feet of the entity (well not by using ParentEntity, but by Vertex Manipulation), so when it's walking, the decal will be distorted with it. That was an older thomb raider thing.
