Q(Posted 2005) [#1]
Is there a way to have a 2d program run zoomed in at 50% for example?

The easiest way I would think would be to make the game in 3D and maybe make the camera Orthographic and set the camera zoom to where you feel is most appropriate.

Won't that make a image blurry?

2d in 3d positioned perfectly isn't blurry. Zooming in would be. I can't think of how zooming in would be even conceivable without blurring, unless your whole game is textured at the zoomed in resolution, in which case the normal zoom would be blurry!

I'll just stick with 2d and manually save all my graphics zoomed in-in paint. :o)

Maybe it's possible with the Graphics Mode 3?

Mode 3 makes the images all stretched and blurry.

If it's only a smallish portion of the screen you want to zoom then it's possible. I have this ability in my current app where I have a zoom window ~3rd screen size. I do it by manually drawing the zoomed pixels to an image buffer, using WritePixelFast - it's fairly quick. I tried a version using solid Rects to draw the pixels but that was too slow.
