LoadAnimMesh not WORKING!!!!

Blitz3D Forums/Blitz3D Beginners Area/LoadAnimMesh not WORKING!!!!

BugZilla(Posted 2005) [#1]
I have created some Direct X animations for use in Blitz 3D. I view them in Deep Exploration and everthing looks fine. All the animation is there and the model does not have any problems.

I can import the model into Blitz, but I cannot get it to animate. I have tried several different pieces of code that work with the animated models available. I am only changing the filename in the LoadAnimMesh command.

Does anyone know why this is and how to get around it?

I think .x models can't be animated in Blitz3D

Not sure, but did you mean to put this in the Tutorial section?

Alienforce(Posted 2005) [#4]
I as now, animated .x is only supported with dx7 in Blitz3D.
Please use "Blitz3D Beginners Area" for this type of questions.
Ps. Convert your .x file to .b3d and then it should work.

Yup... there are two kinds of .X files, dx7 and dx8. dx8 supports bones etc but Blitz supports only dx7 .X. Use a converter and .B3D format.

Mustang,
Any hints on finding a good .x to .b3d converter that converts the animation as well?

To the other posts, I don't know why this would fit in the tutorials section. I don't have a tutorial to submit, but a beginner's 3D question.

BugZilla, You *did* put it in the tutorials section and a mod has moved it to the B3D Beginner's Area,

What AlienForce + Ross said... UU3D is good.
