hello

i am working with an artist who says a model has 'bump mapping included, can my engine display it'.

he gave me a .x file and texture file - is this enough to make bump mapping work, does blitz handle it?

Nope, i'm afraid not. Bump mpas in blitz require you to calculate the light angle, and updates it manually. If the object rotates, you will have to adjust the vertex colours/ or the entity colour to match that. Tricky business really :S The only bump mapoping blitz has is normal mapping. sswift gave a really good description of what it is. It basically uses the RGB of a colour to calculate slope of the bump. R,G and B each representing a vector.
