Hi All,
I'm working on a platform game to cut my teeth on in blitz.
At the moment it's 2d, but once I've finished that, I want to embark on a 3d version.

By problem is a complete lack of drawing ability. Hence I would like to know (for BOTH 2d and 3d) if anyone has any sprites and models of people walking, running and jumping that I can repaint (2d) and reskin (3d). I have tried myself but couldn't approximate a person moving properly if I tried.
If no one has any then I'll resort to doing multiple screen shots of an existing game and repaint the clothes etc, but it'd be easier if someone has one already done.

Thanks!
Shane

the tutorial on walking cycles in the art tutorial forum may be helpful.

Additionally you can use the grunt.md2 that is in the examples of the blitz3d cd. his animations are pretty good.

There is a good ninja character I recently downloaded it can walk jump wave a sword etc. I think I got it from a site called psion 3d. or something like that.Doing your own animated characters is quite tricky. I bought a book on the subject which took 500 pages to design one non animating human. Lifes too short. I didn't bother

You meant psionics work:

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
jfk - I don't have that example as I bought blitz3d via download and didn't get it on a cd. Do you know if the examples on the cd that aren't in the download version are available anywhere?

BlitzResearch should offer them for download here IMHO. Maybe they'll do so if you ask them nicely.

Meanwhile here's the md2, it's tris.md2, not grunt.md2, I confused this for some reason:

But I think that guy can only run, not walk - don't remember clearly. Anyway, Psionics Ninja is also a good choice.

I disagree with the ninja it's only useful as a b3d model in a game, it's of absolute no use for anything else since the model doesn't animate in the ms3d at all. (which is common to common.)

These might be of use...

I don;t understand the Inner argument about Ninja. Is'nt it game animation we are talking about? What is ms3d?

I thought so too.Simply load the ninja in blitz and animate it slowly, grab the render and save this as a serie of animation frames. I am pretty sure the ninja is animated.

Yes it is VERY animated
