Is the x,y co-ordinates in the drawimage command referring to the upper corner of the sprite or the middle of it ?

I think it is upper left - try drawing at 0,0 - then you'll know (I assume, although I don't do 2D stuff)

Yes. You can change it using HandleImage.

If you have AutoMidHandle set to TRUE then any images loaded thereafter will have their axis/handle centered.
