Snow that falls and stays on the ground on a 3d terrain, maybe even stacks to a defined number of levels??
Anyone got any ideas how to do this??
This is what I've so far...

Type Snow

Additional question:

Could it be done on a voxel basis?

Here`s an idea that might work ok.

Have the snow sprites falling down ect ect then you could simply alter the texture of the terrain to a snow white and edit the heightmap to add a little hight to snowed area`s over time :-)

I tried this on my snow particle demo... You need a pretty high detailed terrain to make it look decent. And terrains are really slow.

The solution i had was to let the snow fall, land on the ground for 20 seconds, then delete it. I used a single surface quads as particles,. I had about 2000 of them at the one time.

Would have been nice to get them to build up, but my scene wasn't flat :(

ah, where is this snow part demo and does it have source? That would be useful.

@Ross C

Yeah, I would like to see that demo also. Not neccessarily the source, just the exe file.
