When I run my BMax project on my Mac, within a minute the fan turns on. Is this pretty much the norm? I'm running Updates at 100 cycles per sec and Render is unhooked running as fast as it can. It's just 2D stuff so I'm not sure why it's getting the Mac so hot so fast.

Well, if I run Handbrake, the fan if my Mac Mini comes on. Since it is thrashing the CPU, I'm not surprised.
The only reason I notice the fan comes on is probably because in general use it's sooooo quiet :-)

Try adding a delay 1 in your main loop so it won't try to max out your CPU cycles...

Limit your fps on your render loop. Running as fast as it can means 100% CPU usage which is basically going to make it as hot as possible.

Just to add a little to this discussion, it isn't just BlitzMax that does this. You will probably find that most games make the fan kick in, especially those that make use of 3D acceleration in your graphics card - which BlitzMax does also.
