I keep all my BMX files on a NAS, so my Windows, Mac can access the same stuff. Unfortunately, I cant seem to get BlitzMax to do the same in Ubuntu 7.10.

Selecting Open With breifly loads BlitzMax and then it closes again.

And it doesn't seem to possible to access networks in Files -> Open

Can you connect to the NAS with Ubuntu 7.10 ?
If not then its the firewall (It always is).
Install FireStarter to manage the firewall and in the policy section add the IP address of the NAS. (Netbios names dont't work for some reseaon)

If possible setup Apache with DAV/2 SVN/1.4.4. That way you can host your own Subversion server. It worked out for me greatly.

Yes, I can access the NAS perfectly well in Linux - just cant double click on .bmx files nor open it in the IDE

I'm using samba to access my NAS drive and I've setup the system to auto-mount the NAS to the linux file system at boot up.

To do this read this http://www.mattvanstone.com/2007/11/automatically-mounting-windows-smb-shares-in-ubuntu-v3/

After doing this you should have no problems

Thanks - I'll try that.
