Just a question, will there ever be a PowerPC Linux version of BlitzMax?

FYI This is my first message I have managed to type form my IBook G3 with Unbuntu linux (finally got round to getting the airport card setup :) )

If I ever get a PS3 I will be asking the same question.

it would open up a whole new area for BlitzMax IMHO

The area of a very, very, very small market?

Brucey(Posted 2007) [#5]
very small... there are only 3 million PS3s out there at the moment...

:-p

But seriously, it can't be too hard to get it working

1) BRL has working PPC code for Mac
2) BRL has Max working on Linux

So it would be kind of a cross between the two, I guess.
One of those nice to haves ;-)

Would be nice to have a version tho

Lil off-topic: Why use Ubuntu instead of OSX? Panther should work perfectly with an iBook G3.

because I dont have the OS X Panther disks otherwise I would and I cannot afford them atm. Ubuntu linux is free even on CD

Mark or anyone at BRL could ya tip me the wink as to whether or not there will be a PowerPC Linux build of BlitzMax, if not I will just use C++ for my projects on that platform.

Just wanted to know before I start disecting and assimulating the GC++, Networking and GUI stuff thats available.
