I wanted to try out xubuntu... but I have hit this snag.

Ive tried several of the samples supplied and they all fail on the link with the same error. Here is the output for gnetdemo :

Building gnetdemo
Compiling:gnetdemo.bmx
flat assembler version 1.64
4 passes, 29684 bytes.
Linking:gnetdemo.debug
/usr/bin/ld: warning: libstdc++.so.6, needed by /usr/lib/libGLU.so, may conflict with libstdc++.so.5
/home/wojcikj/BlitzMax/mod/brl.mod/oggloader.mod/oggloader.debug.linux.x86.a(oggloader.bmx.debug.linux.x86.o): In function `brl_oggloader_SaveOGG':
(code+0xaed): undefined reference to `Encode_Ogg'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Build Error: Failed to link /home/wojcikj/BlitzMax/samples/mak/gnetdemo.debug
Process complete

I did a search but no one else has had this problem.. I installed all the packages recommended for ubuntu... does xubuntu have something missing that the normal ubuntu has got ?

<EDIT> I meant to say Im using xubuntu 6.10
