Linux linker failed

Finally got round to installing Linux (PcLinuxOS Distro) and installed BlitzMax. But when trying to run the sample code "Snowfall" received a Build Error.

sh:g++-3.3: command not found
Build error: failed to link /mnt/hda1/blitzmax/samples/simonh/snow/.snowfall

This most likely a Linux problem, but why should this sample fail and a simple "Hello World" code also fail.

Install gcc 3.3.

Perhaps this is also relevant?

Yep FlameDuck/Craig Kiesau gcc 3.3 & gcc++ links where broken, fixed with the sudo link from shell window. Though the frame rate is really slow and is unable to open fullscreen.

Eck, you may want to read some of the other threads in this Linux discussion forum.

Never noticed the Linux forum thread, should it not be in the BlitzMax section...

Is it possible to snyc mods without a internet connection, eg copy the mods folder from my PC Blitzmax then onto the Linux machine? as Linux refuses to even find its 56k modem?

So you don't have 3D acceleration (syncmods won't help here) and you don't have a modem driver - I would consider installing Ubuntu - or maybe asking one of the users in this thread.
