Hi Guys

This is a simple yet beyond me question, I download Fedora Core 5 DVD Iso(3.2gb) from one of the official mirrors. all good and well burned the dvd then reboot to attempt to install it. this is where the problems begin, in the install i get to where it askes for the location of the media (ie. cd-rom, hard-drive ,http ,ftp) i select cd-rom then there a couple of spinning sounds from my dvd drive then the disk is ejected with an error asking for the fedora core 5 cd? the install will not go past this stage. ubuntu(DVD) is the normal linux distro i have been using but wanted to check fedora core 5 out.

any idea's to what could be causing the problem? i burned the dvd using nero and just opend the .iso as normal i made no modifcations to the download.

Strange, I'm using Fed5 and I don't recall any question about where the media is.

Maybe this will help

thanks MadMax its of some help, im still looking into this. Sure you not seen the media location screen.

http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/fedora-install-guide-en/fc5/ch-other-install-methods.html

as you can see from the above link, when i select 'Local CD-ROM' the dvd is ejected. i must be missing something, i will keep searching.
