When i use flag 2 in a texture for alpha-map to a terrain it only works fine if i use EntityTexture terrain,amap
But when i use EntityTexture terrain,amap,0,0: EntityTexture terrain,tex,0,1 then the alphamap only fades black and not transparent!

Is it a 24 or 32 bit tga?
What program did you create the alpha channel in, i know that PSP7 does not handle alpha properly in tgas or pngs.

I reccomend gimp, its free and powerful as photoshop and can produce great alpha textures in both PNG and TGA

If you want one to test with, email me and ill send you a texture with the correct alpha channel. Then you will know weather its blitz or your bitmap causing the error

Might also be a hardware thing. I think Evak used this technique to fade between two textures and on most systems it worked but i *have* seen it just fade to black no a very few cards, and on some others, the entire scene was known to come out the wrong colour. we never found the source of that problem though.
