Hi, I am a beginner. I buyed Blitz3D and downloaded 'Blitz3DSetup164.exe' yesterday. But I met an installation problem. - With a message "cannot find file ...\Rob_pairmain\letters\?.3ds", installation stopped abnormally. - No program icon was created. The program seems to be not registered to Win XP. - IDE can be excuted but some help contents(tutorials) are missing. - Total installed size is smaller than noticed. I downloaded it again, and tried, but arrived at the same result. Please tell me the solution ! Or 'Blitz3DSetup164.exe' has installation bugs? |

I did not think you could have "?" in a filename? So on my install that file is called ..\Rob_Pearmain\letters\question.3ds So if it is looking for ?.3ds it is unlikely to find it. |

That particular sample has a bunch of files named 1.3ds, a.3ds, ).3ds etc. There is one for each character used. So I guess the installer is trying to find files that match the pattern ?.3ds. This doesn't explain why it can't find them. |

Thanks for helpful comments and ideas. I find a method to bypass "cannot find file ?3ds" message. (Sorry for mistyping ?3ds -> ?.3ds : As looking carefully, there is no period mark.) It seems that the installer is trying to find files of pattern ?3ds. But the created files have names like a.3ds b.3ds etc. ; pattern ?.3ds . So I simply add a file named a3ds that matchs searching condition after the incomplete installation. And try 2nd installaton. Happily! it proceed bypassing that error, and installation is ended. Icon is created, viewing tutorials becomes possible. ( Really completed? ) |

Simply set your system default language to "English UK/US" via control panel, reboot, and it should be able to get installed. It's a character issue with european character set. |
