Reinstalling software on my new Windows 8.1 64 bit system I had some problems running Blitz3D (fullscreen) programs. This was the full Blitz3D Version 1.108 install download.

I then reinstalled the original Blitz3D and applied the Blitz3D Update V1.107. All seems fine now! :)

For me anything with Blitz3D starts, then shuts down immediately. I frequently have to reinstall dplay support to get it working. But now, even that doesn't work any more. In short Blitz3D doesn't work with Windows 8.1. And it probably won't get any better either. I guess I will have to forget about using Blitz3d it until he releases the language as open source, at which point I can fix it myself. Because I highly doubt this will get fixed... ever. :/

I'm running WIndows 8.1 64 bit and have no problems with Blitz3D. It might be because I installed DX 9.0c. Read that games which are not DX 11 will run poorly, or not at all, as DX 9 and earlier are emulated instead of accelerated. You need to install the redistributable, as the web installer doesn't work for some reason. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8109

Forgotten about this thread...

On further testing, some (but not all) B3D programs run, but not well.

This didn't improve things for me, sadly.

Can you please be more specific about the problems/bugs that you have seen ?

Thanks
